Internships

The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site offers internships in several areas, including education/interpretation, collections, and public programming for adult audiences. In the past, collections interns have assisted with cataloguing, research, exhibit development, and digitization projects. In addition to conducting tours of the museum, education/interpretation interns have helped with the development and implementation of school programs. Public programming interns have assisted with implementing ongoing programs and developing new ones.  Other internship opportunities are offered on an as-needed basis.

While, in most cases, internships at the TR Site are unpaid, students are strongly encouraged to speak to their schools regarding the process for receiving academic credit. Most interns are upper class undergraduate or graduate students, but student status is not required.  Similarly, a background in history or museum studies is preferred but not required.  Applicants should be responsible, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Anyone interested in an internship at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site should submit an application (available as a fillable pdf).  Internships are limited and applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. Please keep in mind the following final deadlines:

  • For fall internships (September – December), applications must be received by August 15th
  • For spring internships (January – May), applications must be received by December 31st
  •  For summer internships (May – August), applications must be received by April 15th

Anyone interested in an internship at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site should submit an application (available as a fillable pdf here).
