The changes brought about by President McKinley’s tragic assassination and death were far-reaching and many. Among the lesser-appreciated changes is how it fundamentally transformed the role of the Secret Service.
This talk will use archival photographs and primary documents to trace the evolution of the Secret Service, from an investigative agency focused on stopping “frauds against the government” to an elite team responsible for presidential security.
This program will be conducted entirely online, via Zoom; there is no in-person component. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants in advance of the program start time.
Note: Ticket sales will close at 5:00pm on Tuesday, March 24th (one hour before the event begins).
