The Buffalo News Book Club talks to Sarah Vowell about her book, Assassination Vacation.

From the interview:

Her particular favorite spot in Buffalo for commemorating the events of 1901 is the Wilcox Mansion on Delaware Avenue - the site where Theodore Roosevelt took the oath of office as McKinley's successor, and a place that is now a national historic site.

"If somebody wants to really commune with the McKinley assassination, that is the one spot," said Vowell. "You really get a sense of what a solemn, mournful occasion the Theodore Roosevelt swearing-in was."
