Did you know that lack of funding recently forced a local school district to cancel six field trips to the TR Site? Unfortunately, field trips are increasingly viewed as a dispensable luxury and many students today are missing out on these enriching experiences that we remember so well. Thanks to a new initiative sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, we may be able to do something about it!

"Buffalo Matters" is an on-line voting competition that will award $10,000 to the top vote-getting institution! The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site Foundation is one of the four candidates in the running!

If the TR Site is the winning entry, it will use the award to support school visits for underprivileged youngsters from districts in need. The award will enable the Site to provide TR Site visits for an estimated 1,000 students from Western New York who otherwise would never have the opportunity to experience first-hand the excitement of learning about history through our unique interactive and multi-media exhibits.
