Theodore Roosevelt Association's 94th Annual Meeting
A stellar group of national and international historians and authors, led by Pulitzer Prize winner Doris Kearns Goodwin and syndicated columnist E.J. Dionne, Jr., is coming to WNY this fall for the Theodore Roosevelt Association's 94th Annual Meeting, which is being hosted by the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site.
Marking the centennial of Roosevelt's autobiography and drawing on his words, the conference theme, Relevant Reflections, sets the tone for five critical topics that will be explored from both Roosevelt's vantage point and from today's perspective. These five issues are the same ones that are integral to the TR Site's new tour experience and its civic engagement initiative - immigration and urban poverty, race and social inequities, environmental conservation, big business and labor, and the role of the U.S. in global affairs.
The conference events, which include the Gala dinner at the Statler with Keynote speaker Doris Kearns Goodwin and lunch at the Hotel @ The Lafayette featuring E. J. Dionne, Jr., are open to members of the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site and/or the Theodore Roosevelt Association.
